Last week, the Kansas House rejected HB2481, a bill that was amended at the last minute to allow taxpayer-funded adoption and foster care agencies to use religious grounds to discriminate in family placements making it harder for children in need of families to find them!
This could include discrimination against same-sex couples, LGBTQ individuals, couples or individuals of faiths different from that of the agency, single parents, and married couples where one prospective parent had previously been divorced.
Because the Senate previously passed the bill, it now heads to a conference committee where it is expected to move quickly.
Will you join us by contacting your officials NOW and thank them for opposing this discriminatory language?
