Foster Care

Open your heart. Open your mind. Open your home.

An overview of foster parenting
Until their families' problems are solved, children need a caring, safe home—where they will receive the structure, and commitment they need. As a foster parent, you may be asked to care for children for a few days, months, or even years. Sometimes foster parents adopt the children in their care when it's not possible for them to return home.

Caring for these children can be challenging, but you'll have plenty of training and support from caseworkers and other foster parents.

Foster parents come from every walk of life—from couples in their 20s to single people in their 50s...those who've never had children, and those whose children have grown up and moved on... But what they all have in common is a genuine love of children, and the commitment to help them through a difficult time. Successful foster parents are patient, understanding, and able to provide a safe, warm home environment.
